JEE Main Session 2 Registration Dates and Schedule

NTA has started the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 registration process online through its official portal. It’s important for you to track all deadlines carefully to avoid missing any important steps.

Key dates for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 are as follows:

  • Registration start date: 1 February 2026
  • Last date to submit the application form: 25 February 2026
  • Last date to pay application fee: 25 February 2026 (up to late evening, as notified on the portal)
  • Exam dates (Session 2): 2 April 2026 to 9 April 2026
  • Admit card release: A few days before the exam date
  • Result declaration: Expected in April 2026

The exam will be conducted in a computer-based test mode. It will be helpful at the designated examination centres across India and a few select international locations. 

Registration Process Details

The entire JEE Main registration process is conducted online. If you appeared for Session 1, you can use your existing credentials to register for Session 2.

However, if you are a new candidate, you should register afresh before you can file a form for Session 2. 

The basic details required for the registration process include

  • Providing name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
  • Verifying contact details using OTPs sent to mobile and email.
  • Generate an application number and set a secure password.

After successful registration, you can move on to apply for session 2 or the JEE Main examination. 

How to Apply for JEE Main Session 2?

  • Visit the official NTA JEE Main portal
  • Fill in personal details such as name, parents’ names, category, date of birth, and contact information carefully.
  • Enter academic details, including qualifying exam, board, year of passing or appearing, and marks if available.
  • Choose exam city preferences, paper (B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Planning, or a combination), and preferred medium of question paper.
  • Upload scanned images of the photograph, signature, and required documents as per the prescribed size and format.
  • Review the entire form, correct any mistakes and then submit the details
  • Pay the application fee online through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
  • Download and save the confirmation page and payment receipt for future reference

Tip – It is advisable to keep a copy of the application until the completion of the admission process

Exam Schedule and Admit Card

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 will be held from 2 April to 9 April 2026, with exams conducted in multiple shifts each day.

There are usually two shifts daily. Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and Papers 2A/2B (B.Arch/B.Planning) will follow NTA’s day-wise schedule, which will be shared closer to the exam dates. 

The admit card will be available a few days before the exams. You will also get an advance city intimation slip showing the city of their exam center before the admit card is released.

The admit card consists of the following information –

  • Candidate’s name, photograph and application number
  • Exam date, shift and reporting time
  • Assigned exam centre address
  • Exam day guidelines and instructions

Tip – It is mandatory to carry the admit card along with a valid ID card to the examination center. 

Important Documents and Details Required

Before setting out to submit the JEE Main session 2 examination, make sure that you have all the documents ready, scanned, and ready to be uploaded. 

  • Valid mobile number and email ID
  • Class 10 and Class 12 (or equivalent) academic details
  • Scanned passport-size colour photograph (as per NTA guidelines)
  • Scanned signature in the specified size and format
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) if applicable
  • PwD certificate, if relevant
  • A valid photo ID proof, such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport or school ID
  • Bank details or card/UPI information for online fee payment

JEE Main Session 2 Application Fee

The application fees for the JEE Main Session 2 examination vary by gender, category, number of papers chosen, and whether you have chosen an examination center in India or abroad. 

  • For a single paper, the fee is typically between ₹500 and ₹1,000, depending on the category and gender.
  • For multiple papers or combinations, the fee amount is higher but still structured with concessions for reserved categories and female candidates.
  • For candidates choosing exam centres outside India, the fee is significantly higher, with slabs that can go up to around ₹10,000 for certain combinations.
