Qualifying exam
Candidates must have passed Class 12 with PCB and English from a recognized board or equivalent. Class 12 students can also apply.
Age criteria
There is no age limit applicable for candidates appearing for JEE exams.
Academic marks
Candidates must secure a minimum of 75% in Class 12 or an equivalent exam. For SC/ST candidates, the requirement is 65%.
Maximum Attempts
A candidate can take the JEE Main for three consecutive years. The exam is held twice a year, and both attempts are allowed.

No changes have been made to the syllabus for JEE Mains 2025.
JEE Main is the eligibility test for appearing in JEE Advanced, which eventually leads to admission in the IITs. JEE Advanced allows you to get admission in NITs.
EE Main 2025 will be held in 284 cities in India and 15 cities abroad.
The JEE Main 2025 will be held in two sessions, session 1 successfully conducted in the last week of January, from 22nd to 30th January 2025, whereas session 2 is schedule from 1st to 8th April 2025(tentative). The NTA has announced the exam dates of JEE Main 2025 for April session on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in 2025.
